In contrast to jogging stroller, travel system or regular strollers, the umbrella strollers are lightweight yet compact. This makes the best choice for events such as travelling, shopping, vacations and any crowded environment. The down side of it is that because of the compact nature there is no room for a lot of “extra” features on the majority of the umbrella strollers. Certainly, most of the umbrella strollers generally do not have cup holders, storage basket, and a long, single handle. Because of this, at times the umbrella stroller will feel more like a burden than anything else, especially so if you have to carry around a diaper bag which is oversized and has in your baby’s things as well as your gear.

Luckily, many businesses are now making accessories that which work well with umbrella strollers. This result is two-fold: a stroller that is compact plus adequate storage. Below is a review of Sunshine Kids Stroller Accessory Buggy Buddy.

Sunshine Kids Baby Stroller Accessory Buggy Buddy

The Sunshine Kids Stroller Accessory Buggy Buddy is created to act as cup holders and a tray for parents. It is basically a tray which is made from a thick fabric and hung on wire frame. There are two little pockets on each side of the tray acting as cup holders.

It is affixed to the umbrella stroller’s handles by way of hook-and-loop tabs. On a whole, attachment is simple. This particular accessory can be used on a various types of strollers and handles.

At first, for the most part, I was not satisfied with the way in which the Sunshine Kids Stroller Accessory Buggy Buddy dangled from the handles of the umbrella stroller. It hung so low that it appeared to almost touch my baby’s head. It also appeared slightly tilted making the drinks wobbly. However, when I looped the tabs and attach them to the handles of the stroller with D-rings (rather than looping or joining the tabs exactly around the handles), I noticed that the Sunshine Kids Stroller Accessory Buggy Buddy stayed upright and was not so near to my baby’s head.

The cup holders that are on the Buggy Buddy are not really sturdy or deep. They are suitable for a 20-ounce soda or water bottle. I would not recommend that it be used with a cup that has no lid or with a fragile cup like those for fast food. However, they adequately provided for my needs.

The tray was big enough for me to place my sunglasses and wallet in it and had room to spare. The tray also has a mesh, zippered section which was ideal for putting my cellular phone.

Sunshine Kids Baby Stroller- Final Word

I can close the umbrella stroller while the Sunshine Kids Stroller Accessory Buggy Buddy is still attached, making a “permanent” tray/cup holder on the stroller. In spite of the minor defects, I was satisfied with the accessory of the stroller and found it to be quite useful generally.

When you have a newborn you are likely to carry around several things that you will need for the baby which will probably include a stroller that is quite complicated with a lot of whistles and bells. Kolcraft gives its customers three umbrella strollers and two lightweight strollers all for an affordable price that can fit into many budgets.

Functions of the Kolcraft Baby Strollers

When purchasing Kolcraft strollers you have to first decide whether you need an umbrella stroller or a lightweight one. The strollers that are lightweight provide a folding system that you can operate with one hand. This is convenient for when you are carrying the baby in the other arm, with a sip-cup in one hand plus a diaper bag on your shoulder. Although there are some features that these strollers have that the larger strollers have also, the umbrella strollers do not offer certain amenities like a removable trays for parent and child. As its name suggests, umbrella strollers come with a couple curved handles that look like umbrella poles. They collapse in the same way an umbrella does to ensure they take up as little space as possible.

Types of Kolcraft Baby Strollers

Kolcraft has two types of lightweight strollers which are the Travel About and the Lite Sport. They are both in similar price range; the Travel About retailing for $59.99 and the Lite Sport for $49.99. The umbrella strollers are: Tour Sport reclining umbrella for $49.99, iBaby reclining umbrella for $79.99 and the umbrella stroller which is simple, has no amenities or fancy names for $19.99.

Features of the Lightweight Stroller

If what you are looking for is something that is in-between the umbrella and the larger stroller, then the most ideal choice would be the lightweight strollers.

The amenities of the Lite Sport stroller include a child’s tray that is removable (plus a cup holder), cup holders on a parent tray which is also removable, canopy for blocking the sun, a reclining seat, a quick-release three-point buckle as well as a big basket found underneath it for use in storage of purses, toys, books and diaper bags. Travel About strollers also provide a detachable parent tray and cup holder, quick-release three-point buckle and the reclining seat and storage basket.

The child’s tray in the Travel About has a duel holder for juice box and a cup. The window in the canopy allows caretakers and parents to secretly keep a look out for the babies. The Lite Sport and the Travel About strollers provide a system for folding with one hand but there is a one-hand, Free-Stand folding system on the Travel about which was created to make the stroller stand on its own.

Features of the Umbrella Stroller

The majority of the umbrella strollers do not give a lot of amenities except for the iBaby reclining umbrella. Known as the stroller for music lover, it has speakers and an iPod dock for playing iPod Minis or iPods. Other features include an adjustable canopy, parent cup holder, padded reclining seat back, storage bag, three-point safety harness and the front swivel wheels that are shock-absorbing. The stroller has a mesh fabric that gives it an athletic look.

The Tour Sport, the other reclining umbrella from Kolcraft, offers similar amenities as the iBaby except for the iPod dock. These are an adjustable canopy, parent cup holder, padded reclining seat back, storage bag, three-point safety harness and the front swivel wheels that are shock-absorbing.
